400 Years in a Brand

They would celebrate 400 years for a whole year and wanted to create a brand consistently promoted in all contexts. The result was an entire design package and a year of branding and celebration, complete with a royal dinner at the castle of Amsterdam.

400 years of diplomatic relations between Sweden and the Netherlands.

The Swedish Embassy in The Hague contacted me to tell me that Sweden and the Netherlands would be celebrating 400 years of diplomatic relations. The year was 2014. They were in the middle of planning and needed a logotype that represented the entire anniversary. History, trade, Sweden and the Netherlands were the keywords.

The brief eventually grew to include a trilingual graphic profile, website, invitations, seminar programme, gadgets, business cards, and large format designs for the opening ceremony.
