A Passion for Quality, Function and Design

Småland is home to this classic, born in the 1940s in the mill town of Ankarsrum. Since then, the Ankarsrum Assistent Original stand mixer has been widely used by traditional housewives, modern foodies and enthusiastic bakers worldwide.

Printed materials in up to 11 languages

Today, Ankarsrum is exported worldwide and comes with a cookbook in 8 languages and user manuals in 11 languages. Other printed marketing materials include multilingual flyers, consumer brochures, and sales materials.

Since 2017, I have been helping them create pieces that strengthen their brand, clarify their message, and guide, inspire, and inform their users. The resulting content and look are consistent, coherent, effective, and professional.

I also have a personal relationship with Ankarsrum, but more on that below.

A safe purchase thanks to clarity

I always aim for clarity when designing, editing, and translating for Ankarsrum. Clear communication makes a consistent and professional impression even in languages that they don’t speak themselves. This way, even users outside Sweden can feel confident about their purchase.

The quality of their language and marketing should always correspond to that of their stand mixer. There’s consistency in that aspect, too.

Ankarsrum saves time, effort and resources by not having to struggle with coordinating layout and translations, editing, proofreading, checking the language quality and preparing for print – my standard activities when creating a printed piece for them.

I offer them the same accuracy and the same contact person every time. It’s consistent, clear and professional.

“Nitpicking is good.”

It takes time to be thorough and ask fussy questions. And to give feedback to them about what I see needs more consistency or clarity.

Luckily, Ankarsrum appreciates nitpicking because they know they will be satisfied with the result. The quality of their communication will match the quality of their sturdy, strong and ever-lasting kitchen machine.

A family favourite since 1952

My grandmother bought her model from a door-to-door salesman. It was 1952, and the price was 465 Swedish kronor. Afterwards, she felt regretful and thought she would do better work using her hands, but it would turn out differently. She died at the age of 103 after countless litres of applesauce and incalculable amounts of cardamom buns, sausages, pastries, caramel cookies and much more. She had a never-ending love for her kitchen assistant that worked like a horse for her almost until the very end.

The feelings of regret did not last long, but she did not dare to admit the purchase to her family. She tucked hers away in the 1950s kitchen cupboard made for the machine. Her Ankarsrum stand mixer remains in the family to this day.

My own modern Ankarsrum is permanently on display in my kitchen. That way, Grandma is always with me in a way when I bake, cook, mix, and whisk. I haven't tackled sausage stuffing yet though, but how proud I am to create multilingual recipe books and manuals for this company!

You should try the machine!
